Wow! What a weekend! Friday: We spent most of the day packing, plowing snow, and preparing for Saturday. We took off from Iowa City at 4:00 (which means more like 4:35) for Sinsinawa Mounds. There was 7 of us! Joining us was the NEWEST addition to the group, Andy Gisleson. Andy is a prospective Med Student at the University of Iowa. He is our newest Singer and "Auxiliary Percussionist". He is a great egg shaker! (I need more cowbell!) Upon arrival at Sinsinawa Mounds, we were warmly welcomed by the Sinsinawa Staff who helped us get settled in our rooms. After a few minutes of relaxing (more like 30 seconds) we headed to the auditorium to unload, set-up, and practice. After a long day, we made it to our rooms at approx. 1am! Saturday: Everybody up and at it! Heather Simmons, the other NEWEST addition to our group, arrived that morning at 8:00am. Check out her Bio to learn more about her message! The retreat started at 9:00am with close to 45 students in attendance and about 10 adult chaperons. We kicked things off with great icebreakers, fun music, and lots of energy. The students had fun hanging out, learning about God, and hearing great messages. It was great meeting all the students. Thank you to Fr. Marty Goetz for leading our Mass to end the retreat.
